PhD Candidate
I am currently enrolled in a PhD at the UQ Business School, University of Queensland.
The working title for my thesis is "Testing the AIR: Using Structured Conversation to Mitigate Critical Failure Factors in Business Process Improvement". This research builds on the thinking in my first book, Collaborative Problem Solving: A Guide to Improving Your Workplace, looking at how tools such as Assessing Initial Readiness (AIR) can be used to facilitate conversations to identify and manage the risk of business improvement programs failing. Find out more about AIR on my blog or in my book.
Influencing Leaders
I am using a process studies approach to investigate the actions employees take to influence leaders and build stronger support for business improvement initiatives. The initial data collection is via an online survey. Please contact me if you are working in business improvement and interested in contributing to this research.
University Responses to COVID-19
I am part of a team conducting thematic analysis of survey responses on the leadership and management responses of universities during COVID-19. This research looks at the actions of a sample of universities around the world.
